Journal of Facility Planning and Design - Call for Papers
The Journal of Facility Planning, Design, and Management (JFPDM) is now accepting manuscripts that focus on research or practical applications of scholarly information related to facility planning, design, or management of facilities. If accepted, manuscripts will be published in one of JFPDM’s biannual issues.
JFPDM is the official publication of the Council on Facilities and Equipment, a section of The Society For Health and Physical Education (SHAPE), formally the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD).
The purpose of JFPDM is to provide a forum for analyzing the management and organization of the delivery of facility planning and design for the fitness, physical activity, recreation, and sport profession. Its primary purpose is to bridge the gap between research and practice for fitness, physical activity, recreation, and sport administrators, educators, consultants, and researchers. Efforts will be made to include articles that are empirical in content and practical in orientation. Since JFPDM is directed at practitioners and researchers, articles will minimize technical language and excessive use of statistical reporting. JFPDM will publish distinguished original manuscripts that (1) move facility planning and design concepts forward in the fields of fitness, physical activity, recreation, and sports and (2) provide clear implications of theory and research for problem solving and action in fitness, physical activity, recreation, and sport organizations. Emphasis will also be given to papers that present conceptual and philosophical discussions of facility planning and design practices, thus opening up new forums for discussion and areas of research and study.
Authors should direct submissions for JFPDM through the Journal Management System provided by the publisher, which can be found at http://js.sagamorepub.com/jfpdm. This system manages the electronic transfer of manuscripts throughout the article review process while providing step-by-step instructions and a user-friendly design. Please note that a blind review process is used to evaluate manuscripts. As such, any clues to the author’s identity should be eliminated from the manuscript prior to submission. Questions about JFPDM or manuscript submission should be directed to the editor of JFDPM, Dr. Thomas H. Sawyer, at email@example.com.
